Multiroom Solutions was appointed by Acorn Nursery Group to coordinate an initial feasibility study and cost assessment for a new nursery building at Kents Hill.
Our quantity surveying team ran a full cost exercise and produced the supporting information Acorn needed to bid for funding from the local authority. Securing that funding was the point the whole scheme depended on, and it needed figures that would hold up under scrutiny.
Our approach
Once funding was secured, we took the project from design through to completion. This included:
Coordinating a bespoke design and tendering it to several specialist contractors and manufacturers
Managing a complex planning application, including biodiversity net gain and the purchase of offsite credits
Administering the contract through to handover
The outcome
The scheme was delivered on time and within the projected budget.
By building the cost case before the funding bid rather than after it, Acorn went into the application with figures that stood up, and the project proceeded without the budget being reworked later.
